Following the annulment of Kenyan presidential election, the electoral commission in Kenya has declared that a fresh presidential election will hold on October 17.
The Chairman of the electoral commission, Wafula Chebukati, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
It will be recalled that the supreme court had annulled the result of the August 8 poll, ordering that a fresh election be held within 60 days.

The supreme court had said the commission committed irregularities in adding up the votes cast.
However, President Uhuru Kenyatta condemned the court decision and expressed his disagreement.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga commended the court for the annulment.
The election commission had earlier said only Kenyatta and Odinga would be on the ballot paper.
